About Frankie Lemmon

Frankie Lemmon School & Developmental Center is a NAEYC accredited, 5-star child development center that welcomes children ages 2 to 6 of all abilities. Our school offers inclusive classrooms and experiences providing every child a sense of belonging and an opportunity to reach their full potential.

Frankie Lemmon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that exists exclusively to provide resources and financial support for Frankie Lemmon School.

OUR MISSION is to educate and celebrate children of all abilities.

OUR VISION is a world where children have the foundation to reach their full potential, and families have the knowledge and support to navigate the journey.

-1 Teacher: 6 Students

The teacher-to-student ration at Frankie Lemmon School is 1:6 or lower, allowing optimal focus on the needs of each child. A Birth-Kindergarten certified teacher and teacher assistant collaborate to lead each classroom. Most of our teachers hold a Master’s in Education, and further support is provided by part-time assistants and groups of generous, caring volunteers.

 -Therapy and Enrichment

Both full-time speech and occupational therapists are on staff and available to the classrooms to support our children on a consistent basis. We contract with additional therapists to provide physical therapy as well as additional speech and occupational therapy. Enrichment activities, such as music therapy, movement class, and pet therapy, are offered to all students to support their development.

-Total Communication

All staff members are trained in using Total Communication – sign language, visuals, verbal, and augmentative communication devices – to support children’s development of language, literacy, and communication skills. All classrooms are equipped with iPads, a SMART Board, and other assistive technology. This technology provides our children the tools to develop a communication system for making choices and engaging with teachers and peers.

-Nutrition

Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided during the school day at no cost to families. We partner with the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Farm to Childcare initiative to offer fresh and local menu items to our students. Teachers and therapists address feeding needs by creating individual plans that support progress and growth to ensure safe mealtimes and adequate nutrition.

-Family Support

We strive to develop strong partnerships with families in order to build the connection between home and school. Family School Partnership Days, parent workshops, parent teacher conferences, individual case management, home vists, and school wide celebrations are some of the opportunites we offer to help support our Frankie Lemmon Families.

What Your Dollar Does

As Frankie Lemmon School continues to grow, so do the costs to provide the highest level of wrap-around educational support to our children and families. We receive local and state government funding to help support the operating costs. This covers 26% of the school’s annual expenses. Additionally, our tuition-paying families cover 4% of these expenses. We are dependent on the generosity of our community to close the gap on our funding needs. We believe in each child’s unique potential, and your support enables us to provide an educational experience that changes lives.
