The Farmhouse Chef is Serving Up Something Special

Meet and greet local author and chef Jamie DeMent. She’s offering good cookin’ for a good cause– Frankie Lemmon. She will be signing her newest release, The Farmhouse Chef: Recipes & Stories From my Carolina Farm, at The Mayton Inn on Sunday, November 12th. Ms. DeMent is generously donating a portion of book sale proceeds to Frankie Lemmon School and Development Center.

Jamie has her roots in Eastern North Carolina. She received her degree from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. From Chapel Hill to Capitol Hill, she worked as a legislative aid. From there, she went to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences before joining Richard Holcomb at Coon Rock Farm. Her hobbies extend far beyond the kitchen as she’s a guest lecturer at UNC Chapel Hill and owns Bella Bean Organics and Piedmont Restaurant with her husband. Ms. DeMent incorporates recipes with stories from her life in The Farmhouse Chef, offering a taste of Southern cooking and a glimpse into her life.

We are looking forward to joining Ms. DeMent at The Mayton Inn in Cary. This event will allow you to sample some of the chef’s recipes (before you try them for yourself). She will also be available for book signings. And if you don’t already have a copy, you can purchase yours at the event. And what would savory Southern dishes be without a glass of wine? Queen of Wines will be providing a wine tasting of their select wines. Queen of Wines are experts on all things French Wine and happy to teach you the ins and outs of whites, reds, and everything in between. Event details can be found below.
